i had a really bad day to begin with today!

let's just say that i had to fight off a sea of people when i was the only bozo getting off the bus to get to the fish house! can't they wait until people get off the bus before they squeeze and shove their way into the bus?? i just don't get it! how stoopid can they get??? (and this is NOT the first time!)

i had more problems waiting for me in the fish house, but i just don't feel like talking about it anymore. i want to forget what happened today. the damned undergrads also hurt my hand when they squeeze squeeze their way thru. argh! feel so upset today! i guess i'll wait for morning to come before i decide to totally write off taking the bus to fish house all together. i'd rather walk all the way there then be hurt and angered early in the morning every other day.

hi guys... just came back fr klantan... ni pun tgh sakit kepala lg ni...
ujan lebat ooo... working under d rain + cozy day... thank God i hv 2 guys(en Jamil n kar loon) working wif me to set 63 canvas tanks in machang... bos wif her d only son(shafiq) also came 2 help us... penat gilerlaaa... d nice thing 2 remember is we got nice n luxurius dinner in 4 season & cheng mai restaurant, jgn jeles chepah n khaleed... ;p ;p ;p :) but this time no tomyam n bos quite disappointed...
fyi, last mth we(chepah,khaleed,karloon n me) set up 18 tanks in Pasir Mas... n stock 1000 keli pertank, n u know wat happened?... d fish didn grow, actually growla but only 10-20 gms... hahahaa... sepatutnya ikan tu dah jadi 100 gms... pening gakla prof masa we all p cek hari tu... so what we did, we regred n restock it again... 600 fish per tank... actually d wether also 1 of d factor yg buat ikan tu tak mkn byk... air sejuk sgt... i pun tak tahan!!!

why mystery?
no one admitted to whistling that tune...

we didn't imagine the thing because BOTH of us heard it. and we both figured out the song (we heard a chinese tune: tong hua...)
but nobody admitted.

so, conclusion: lab downstairs has a whistling oven, because we heard it when 'You' opened the oven. (actually he was our prime suspect...but he denied it till the end....)

Conceiving late! You might have a boy

Women conceiving late are more likely to bear a baby boy, a Dutch study shows.

The study led by epidemiologist Luc Smits of Maastricht University in Netherlands found that the chances of a woman having a baby boy was 58 per cent in a group of 500 women who took more than a year to conceive, BBC News reported.

But among the 4,800 women who conceived in less than a year, this fell to 51 per cent, it said.

For every additional year a couple tries to conceive a baby naturally, there is almost four per cent higher probability of having a boy.

The increased chance remains after allowing for confounding factors such as smoking, alcohol and variability in the menstrual cycle.

Actually we found this 'Datin' from a pirate's sloop during pillaging this afternoon at Lima Strait. When we found her, she was locked in a small room without any food and water for 2 days. So, as usual (we are the kindest pirates in the whole Viridian Ocean), we saved her and give her some food. But dun expect a 'Datin' can eat like this way, when she hungry!!!!

Rally Circuit?!?

What are they doing to the roads at the fish house? They are putting road bumps everywhere and at very weird and funny places! I don't know how to explain in words and I don't have my camera with me (phone camera cannot transfer and don't want to pay 50sen for the MMS :P). It's best you see for yourself. I don't know if it will eventually be road bumps but from the way they are aligned at the moment, looks like it! Can someone complain before they really make them into road bumps?!?

Even the makcik next door also has got something better to look at!

oh well, turns out that a day at the races is a day that proves that the pirate of the viridian ocean is a true snake charmer... he rescued a snake from the earthen pond...with all the crazy, nothing-better-to-do onlookers. (it was a long snake!)

China sacks environmental chief following major river pollution

BEIJING, Dec. 2 (Xinhuanet) -- China's cabinet on Friday approved the resignation of Xie Zhenhua, director of the State Environmental Protection Administration (SEPA), following a chemical spill that has seriously polluted the country's northeastern Songhua River.

"Xie submitted a resignation request to the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the State Council. The request has been approved," said a joint circular from the general offices of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, the Chinese cabinet.

Xie has become the highest-ranking official to be removed from office for an environmental incident, as the Chinese authorities are increasingly aware of the danger of seeking economic development at the cost of environment, as well as the importance of boosting government accountability.

The State Council said in a separate announcement that it has appointed Zhou Shengxian, former director of the State Forestry Administration, as Xie's replacement.

"After this major water pollution incident (in the Songhua River) occurred, the SEPA has failed to pay sufficient attention to the incident and has underestimated its possible serious impact," said the joint circular.

"It should bear due responsibility for the losses caused by this incident," the circular added.

Around 100 tons of pollutants containing hazardous benzene spilled into the Songhua River after a chemical plant explosion on Nov. 13 in northeast China's Jilin Province. The incident has forced cities along the river, including Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang Province and a city of more than three million people, to temporarily suspend water supply.

As the pollutants are also expected to flow into a major border river between China and Russia, diplomatic efforts and environmental cooperation are now underway to minimize the impact of trans-border pollution.

The central authorities' joint circular on Friday ordered relevant departments to step up investigation into causes of the explosion and pollution incidents, and vowed to "seriously punish those responsible."

Jiang Chengsong, a member of the Environmental and Resources Protection Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, said the quick replacement of the environmental chief after the Songhua River pollution incident also shows the improvement of China's political system.

"It indicates that the country's official accountability system has become more mature," he said.

China activated the official accountability system during the SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) crisis in 2003. More than1,000 officials, including then Health Minister Zhang Wenkang and Beijing Mayor Meng Xuenong, were ousted for their attempts to cover up the epidemic situation or incompetence in SARS prevention and control.

The system was later introduced to all levels of the government, and more officials lost their jobs for major accidents or other administrative mistakes. In April 2004, General Manager of the China National Petroleum Corporation Ma Fucai, also a minister-level official, resigned over a major oil well blowout accident in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.

Born in 1949, Xie is a native of Tianjin. He became chief of the SEPA in 1993 after nearly two decades of service in it.
