You've heard of Starcraft. You've heard of Warcraft. But have you heard of Gamblecraft? If not, let me tell you just a little more about them.
Gamblecraft is a place where you can get reviews and tutorials about online casinos. Be it slots, roulette, video poker or craps, they have in-depth reviews and recommendations for the right sites suitable to your profile and needs.
It doesn't matter if you're looking for a little extra money for that Christmas shopping you've still to get on with or for some much needed rest and relaxation or fun, they can point you to the right site for what you seek.
What's more, they have some game software for you too which you can use to calculate gambler's odds and used in poker games. There's even a software to coach you in poker if you're new to the game.
You can also look through the tutorials if you're really new to games offered in online casinos but I would seriously recommend you to set yourself a budget and stick to it if you're really new to gambling. Take it more as a leisure activity rather than hoping to strike it lucky and become filthy rich.
So, if you're still interested in learning more about them instead of relying everything written in a paid review, head on over to their website for a taste of what they have to offer.

Some may find this tip to be very useful - five of the very best things to say when caught sleeping at your desk! :P
5. "They told me at the Blood Bank this might happen."Do you have your own to add to this list? ;)
4. "This is just a 15 minute power nap they raved about in the time management course you sent me to."
3. "Whew! Guess I left the top off the Whiteout. You probably got here just in time."
2. "Did you ever notice sound coming out of these keyboards when you put your ear down real close?"
And the NUMBER ONE best thing to say if you get caught sleeping at your desk...
1. Raise your head slowly and say, "...in Jesus' name, Amen."

Wouldn't anyone want a little more than what they already have? What am I talking about? Money of course! It is hard to deny the fact that our lives revolves around money. It's impossible to escape money. You need it for practically everything and you are unable to perform many simple basic tasks without the use of money. Sad but true.
I am an advocate for earning one's worth through hard work but if you think you are a lucky person, you can always try to earn some extra cash at some online casinos while enjoying yourself playing the games they have to offer.
Golden Palace Casino is one such place where you can try out your luck. It is one of the leading online casinos you can find on the internet at the moment and is powered by the Playtech online casino software. At Golden Palace Casino, new players can receive up to $300 in free casino bonus money! Isn't that the best way to start? Profit upfront!
They offer the service in three languages; English, French and Spanish. You can also choose from three currencies; US Dollar, Euro and British Pound. You can't really get the full picture of their service just by reading a paid review so I would suggest that you jump right over to their website to check them out yourself.

You've heard of exotic animals introduced to new environments and how they wreck havoc to the ecosystem. Have you ever wondered what those animals are? Have you ever wanted to know the worst invasive in the world?
Now you can. Someone has compiled the five worst invasive species in the world for your reading. I'm surprised crows didn't make it to the list. Also, I'm sure humans deserve to be part of the list too! Sure, it's suppose to be worst non-native animal species in the world but I'm truly surprised humans didn't make it to the list! Honestly, we should top the list even!

Yup, the man's back again with a new Numa video - Numa Three : Crazy Loop. After gaining phenomenal popularity with his original Numa Numa Video, he created the follow-up video New Numa which I didn't think was nice at all. I don't know about you but I feel he should have stopped at the original Numa Numa. This third one is not too bad but I doubt it will create anything viral like the original Numa Numa video. Have a watch yourself.
If you would like to relieve some of the copycat Numa Numa videos, we have two very good ones on this blog, remember? I really enjoy the Nikewomen video and the MMU students weren't too bad either. Again I shall ask, where's the version by Lab 407 like promised?!?

This is a pretty good guide. I've made recycled paper before and I would suggest using a blender rather than the mortar and pestle. Not only would it be much faster, it would be much easier.
Extra tip: You can also use curry powder and other stuff to give your recycled paper colour. Be creative! ;)

Have you ever considered looking for a job in a foreign country? Have you thought of working in another Commonwealth country apart from United Kingdom? Have you considered working in Canada?
If you've given serious thought to making a living in Canada, you have a service like Now Hiring Canada to help you search for your dream job. At this site, you can submit your resume like any other job search portals for prospective employers to browse through. You can also browse through all the available job offers posted by employers.
You can search jobs for different regions whether it is in Vancouver, Ontario, Calgary, Quebec or British Columbia. You can also stay updated with career and job fairs across Canada to help you land the job you aspire. Also available in this site are tips to writing a powerful CV and a mock test for the Immigration Test you'll need to go through to enter and work in Canada.
With the Canadian dollar having a higher value than the US dollar at the moment, it does make more sense to consider Canada as an alternative country to work in rather than the United States. So in addition to this paid review, why don't you check the site out yourself and make that first step to working in Canada.

the revenge of the killer bottle cap
yesterday rerama and i had a terrible terrible time opening a particular chemical bottle...we employed several methods, and i'd like to share them with u [who knows? u might face this one day too]
#1 - try the blunt knife u see nearby. rip out the plastic ring attached to the cap
[but hey, the cap still doesn't budge]
#2 - oh look! there's a flat spatula thingy that looks usable. try prying the cap from underneath [hello....help....it doesn't work too]
#3 - let's try another knife shall we? a sharper one...the picture doesn't show the knife, because it belongs to the lab next door...and i ummm, kind of broke the tip...so i shall not put the photo just in case i get caught...
BLARDY THINGS DON'T WORK!!!
#4 - we got rid of most of the cap bits...but still no hope. then we had a brilliant idea! let's cut thru the cap and use the cap from the old bottle to replace this damn one!! yes...!!!
so u see, the cap looked as though it had been bitten and gnawed upon...but we didn't bite! [we used the neighbour's knife...but this didn't seem like an appropriate thing to do as i feel that one of us may have lost a few fingers in the process.]
THINK, think. what to do next?
#5 - added a rubber band for extra grip on the cap
#6 - used a cloth to help - the cap really hurts hands! it's painful... :(
so, we put in a team effort on the grand finale. one held the cap and the other held the bottle and we moved in opposite directions. [it was a funny thing this position, but we shall not elaborate, if u want a demo, we'd show u. so we ended up laughing instead....after a 1 minute break of laughter, we went right back to work.]
and lo and behold, suddenly there was a little bit of hope - something moved...
so we tried again, with all our might, finally!
we got the cap off!! yay!
the lesson learnt here: skip all the way to step 5 and 6 if u ever find yourself in this screwed up situation. or get a macho man to help...but sadly, rerama and i had no one to turn to at the moment. where's a hero when u need one?
:)

A complete makeover is way overdue for this site. Since Nautica back in May 2006, this blog has not had a major redesign...until now.
Apart from a change in its looks, there are also a few other changes to the blog in this revamp. Comments are now opened to all. Previously, only members of the blog were able to comment but not anymore. It is also fully ported to the new Blogger interface as we say goodbye to the Blogger Classic Template. This move however has its own pros and cons.
We can easily add polls and other elements to the blog now but they are more difficult to configure and manipulate compared to previously. We also have labels and categories now. Search results will be displayed directly on this website now instead of another page and apart from subscribing to RSS feeds for posts, you can also subscribe to comments RSS feeds now.
These are the few changes to the blog. Oh, and the new theme is called Illacrimo. I don't know what it means but IMHO, it is a small improvement from Nautica. Don't you think so?

For as long as we can remember, we seem to think that the appendix is a useless body part. In fact, it could even be harmful if inflamed and not removed in time. As such, when we have a surgery somewhere in that region, we are asked if we would like to remove our appendix too. However, recent findings may have now discovered the true function of the appendix.
Some scientists think they have figured out the real job of the troublesome and seemingly useless appendix: It produces and protects good germs for your gut. [...]
The appendix "acts as a good safe house for bacteria," said Duke surgery professor Bill Parker, a study co-author. The location of the appendix — just below the normal one-way flow of food and germs in the large intestine in a sort of gut cul-de-sac — helps support the theory, he said.
Also, the worm-shaped organ outgrowth acts like a bacteria factory, cultivating the good germs, Parker said. [...]
Would you still remove your appendix (under normal circumstances) after knowing this? Actually, the researchers don't think there is a need for an appendix in a modern industrialised society and you can still remove your appendix without causing any harm to your body system.

We know by now that consuming chocolate is good for our health. Even without knowing its nutritional and medicinal benefits, we still chow the dark matter down, no? In the past, chocolate has even been used to cure certain diseases. Here's some of the ten reasons to eat more chocolates, backed by research too, that may prove useful to us now.
2. Improves blood flow to brain - a University of Nottingham professor found that drinking cocoa drinks rich in flavanols improves blood flow to key areas of the brain for two to three hours. Flavanols in the cocoa drink are a key ingredient of dark chocolate. Professor Macdonald's study also suggested that cocoa flavanols in chocolate may enhance brain function to help fight sleep deprivation, fatigue, and the effects of ageing.
3. Boosts mood - MSNBC reported that caffeine and other chemicals in dark chocolate can improve your mood and ease premenstrual symptoms. Mark's Daily Apple wrote that the chemical phenylethylamine in chcolate has been found to trigger feelings similar to "falling in love."
7. Helps ease chronic fatigue syndrome - a study found that adults with chronic fatigue syndrome who eat 1.5 ounces of 85% cocoa dark chocolate were less fatigued after they eat chocolate.
10. Eases a persistent cough - a UK study found that theobromine, a component in cocoa, may be more effective as a cough medicine than standard drug treatments. The research showed that "theobromine acts on the sensory nerve endings of the vagus nerve, which runs through the airways in the lungs to the brain."
I've been feeling under the weather for awhile now. I guess I need to go out and grab myself some chocolates now. Anyone else need a bar or two? ;)

Want to live longer and healthier? Maybe what you put in your mouth and how you put it in your mouth matters more than you think. Something for the slow eaters to cheer about. ;)
Healthy Habit 2: Savor leisurely dining
Countries known for putting it into practice: Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Japan
A meal in these countries often lasts several hours. In fact, one of Greece's dietary guidelines, its version of our USDA dietary guidelines, is to "eat slowly, preferably at regular times of the day, and in a pleasant environment." Sharing a meal is so important that Greeks call someone a friend "by saying we have shared bread together," Trichopoulou says.
For the French, Italians, and Spanish, meals provide quality time with friends and family, a practice that encourages healthful bonds. Eating comfortably and slowly discourages overeating and fosters relaxation, which aids digestion. The body processes food more easily and efficiently when it's calm, Montignac says.
What you can do: Take time to savor the scent, texture, and flavor of food. A traditional Japanese tea ceremony, for example, includes a role for each of the senses -- watching and listening as the tea pours from pot to cup, picking up the cup and feeling the heat, smelling, and finally, tasting. Another way to savor your supper: Divide it into separate courses. Instead of bringing everything to the table at once, have a salad course, then fruit, entrée, and dessert -- with, say, at least 10 minutes between each course to digest, chat, and relax. Whether you're dining with a spouse, family, or just you, set the table and sit down, rather than grazing in the kitchen -- and enjoy.

This may be of use to us researchers. Mozilla has released a special version of its popular Firefox browser for students - Firefox Campus Edition.
What's different from the Campus Edition and the normal release is that the Campus Edition already has three addons which are deemed to be widely used by students like us such as FoxyTunes, StumbleUpon and Zotero.
Actually, I only find Zotero of relevance to us. I've used FoxyTunes before and don't really like it. StumbleUpon is alright but maybe not that relevant to us researchers. Zotero however I find very interesting and useful. You can view the guided tour of Zotero to judge for yourself.
I think I will just add the Zotero addon to my current browser instead of installing the Campus Edition as it essentially is the same except for the addons.

Are you a mosquito magnet? Scientists may have found the reason why.
Scientists have worked out why mosquitoes make a beeline for certain people but appear to leave others almost untouched.
Specific cells in one of the three organs that make up the mosquito’s nose are tuned to identify the different chemicals that make up human body odour.
To the mosquito some people’s sweat simply smells better than others because of the proportions of the carbon dioxide, octenol and other compounds that make up body odour.
It is those people who are most likely to be bitten.

some random thoughts on the eve of Malaysia's 50th independence day.
-seems like the "in" thing to do now is to fly our Jalur Gemilang. but is our patriotism measured by how big the flag on the building or how many small flags you have? after this, will you still drive around with your flags-laden-until-the-screen-is-blocked car???
-why am i not at padang kota/gurney drive/KLCC/putrajaya for the merdeka countdown? oh well, call me boring; call me stupid. i have tonnes of things-more-important-than-count-backwards-out-loud to do in lab.
-as much as i want to claim that i own myself, do whatever i want, go wherever i want; i'm still sober enough to know that MY.SUPERVISOR.DICTATES.MY.LIFE. (as for now...hopefully...plz god let it be over soon...)
have a nice day tomorrow.

For example, the "Learn More" button stands out very prominently on the start page. If you are to attract potential clients to your service, you definitely would hope they will click on that button and get to know more about your products and services. Unfortunately, it is not hyperlinked. Less tech-savvy clients would have just closed the site and ventured on to a competitor for such user-unfriendliness.
The navigation bar at the bottom of the page doesn't help much especially when some of the pages lack the navigation bar. The navigation bar should be at the top or the side for ease of use. If the website is not ready, they shouldn't launch it yet and definitely shouldn't ask for a review. It's just suicidal.
They may have a functional service/product but with such a website, they will definitely lose many potential customers. At the moment, their minisite on their main corporate website makes more sense visiting if you are interested in their products and services.

Thrifty Mom did some research and came up with some inexpensive ways to combat mosquitoes. Some of the methods include:
5. Wear light colored clothing. Mosquitoes are attracted to dark clothes.
7. Spray garlic powder and water all over the yard.
8. Plant mosquito deterring plants around your yard such as citronella, marigolds, basil, lavender, and catnip.
If all fails, there's of course the mosquito repellent spray/lotion. Not the best option though. You'll understand if you've used one before.

A study has found that the higher your IQ, the less likelihood of you having sex. Apparently, females suffer more compared to males. To rub it in even further, even an idiot with IQ lower than 70 has higher odds of having sex earlier than those with IQ 120 and above.
[...] Depending on the specific age and gender, an adolescent with an IQ of 100 was 1.5 to 5 times more likely to have had intercourse than a teen with a score of 120 or 130. Each additional point of IQ increased the odds of virginity by 2.7% for males and 1.7% for females. But higher IQ had a similar relationship across the entire range of romantic/sexual interactions, decreasing the odds that teens had ever kissed or even held hands with a member of the opposite sex at each age. [...]
By the age of 19, 80% of US males and 75% of women have lost their virginity, and 87% of college students have had sex. But this number appears to be much lower at elite (i.e. more intelligent) colleges. According to the article, only 56% of Princeton undergraduates have had intercourse. At Harvard 59% of the undergraduates are non-virgins, and at MIT, only a slight majority, 51%, have had intercourse. Further, only 65% of MIT graduate students have had sex.
The student surveys at MIT and Wellesley also compared virginity by academic major. The chart for Wellesley displayed below shows that 0% of studio art majors were virgins, but 72% of biology majors were virgins, and 83% of biochem and math majors were virgins! Similarly, at MIT 20% of 'humanities' majors were virgins, but 73% of biology majors. (Apparently those most likely to read Darwin are also the least Darwinian!) [...]
If you have access to Journal of Adolescent Health, you can read the published article here but
those who do not have access can read up a write-up here. Yes, it is a published article in a reputable journal. ;)

Holistic medicine is growing in popularity. Aromatherapy, herbal medicine and homeobotanical therapy are being used together with modern medical practices to heal patients of various ailments nowadays. To meet the demand for professionals in these relatively new fields, this is where a holistic college like ACHS plays a huge role.
Australasian College of Health Sciences (ACHS) is based in Portland, Oregon but you need not be on campus to be part of its programmes. All you need is an internet connection and an interest in holistic medicine. Established in 1978, ACHS specialises in online holistic health education and is legitimately accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council and state licensed by the Oregon Department of Education. Of course, you may elect to do the course on campus too if you preferred to do so.
Among the courses available at ACHS are aromatherapy, herbal medicine and homeobotanical therapy. You could pursue to be master aromatherapists and master herbalists under the tutelage of dedicated ACHS lecturers. Also, as students, you will receive discounts on their online store.
If you are not financially capable to enrol in the courses, you could look into some loans and scholarships available. ACHS offers a Military Scholarship Program for eligible, active duty military, serving in the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard and Reserves. Even Military Veterans and spouses of active duty personnel are eligible for the ACHS Military Scholarship which reduces 35% of the total tuition costs.
Hopefully with this paid review, you have a better understanding of what ACHS has to offer.

Previously, we had to fight with cars for maize, palm oil, sunflower seeds, soybeans, rapeseed and many other agricultural products that we humans consume as food, with the rise of biofuel production to replace petroleum based fuels. It seems now the fight has included that of tilapia too. In Honduras, tilapia is being used to make biodiesel to feed automobiles instead of fish & chips for humans. Check out the April 20 Aquafinca report.
The biodiesel project started in August 2005. With the fish waste, St Peter Fish produces fishmeal, fish oil for feedstock, biodiesel and glycerin for soap production. Currently, it produces about 30,000 gallons of biodiesel per month. This is slightly more than the company’s own energy needs. The plant has a capacity of 4000 gallons per day, so production could be increased. The raw material that is used for biodiesel could also be used as animal feedstock but Tilapia contains no omega 3, giving it a low value on the animal feedstock market. So, do you all still think biodiesel is really that good an alternative?!?

Using innovative copyrights and a Web 2.0 platform, John Wilbanks may just transform how scientific discoveries are made. Is this the next scientific revolution?
When Pasteur had his eureka moment, the processes leading up to it were barely different than Archimedes's. The scientist hypothesized, created his tools, and executed his experiments with little need for input from his colleagues. My, how things have changed. As science has become increasingly complex and interconnected, even the smallest a-ha instance demands that researchers spend the bulk of their time on grunt work—combing through relevant journal articles that are poorly annotated, begging colleagues for necessary materials (a biologist may need specific cell lines, for instance), and tracking down data sets. As scientific goals grow more multifaceted, the challenges for research and development lie not only in the experiments themselves, but also in the transfer of information among peers.

Introducing Malaysia's very own homegrown nutritious sweet potato packed with vitamins.
Malaysia unveils Vitato
BACHOK: Vitato – that's Malaysia's own homegrown nutritious sweet potato with loads of vitamins.
The Malaysian Agriculture Research Development Institute (Mardi) unveiled it here on Tuesday.
The new potato variety was first conceived in 1997 at the Mardi station in Telong, here.
It has a stronger nutrition content compared to the average potato and has become a source for pride for the institute.
The brandname was coined from the words "vitamin" and "potato."
Speaking at its launch, Agriculture and Agro-Based Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that it has a stronger nutrition content compared to the average potato and has become a source for pride for the institute.
"It has many vitamins such as C and E which can help in the dietary supplement of those consuming it," he said.
Present were MARDI director-general Datuk Dr Abd Shukor Abd Rahman, state Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Annuar Musa and state agriculture committee chairman Dr Nik Mazian Nik Mohamed.
I don't know if I should feel proud or laugh after reading this.

If you take nutritional supplements and you are a bodybuilder, you may want to give Stronger Nutrition a visit.
Stronger Nutrition sells bodybuilding supplements and discount nutritional supplies through their website. Through a combination of pricing, distribution and service, they are trying to differentiate themselves from the competition as the preferred choice for buying online supplements.
You don't need to have an account to look through their product catalog but signing up will entitle you to some benefits which will come in handy. For example, with the free registration, you'll be able to add products to your favourites list, browse through previously viewed and previously ordered lists and saved searches to name just a few.
Not only are their prices cheaper than retail prices, they also have a rewards program that will enable you to save even more with special discounts and shipping is free for purchases $200 and above.
Products are grouped into 18 categories such as drinks, herbs, snacks and vitamins. The search function is quite comprehensive with ability to search by goals, title, product type, brands, flavour and even ingredients!
This may be a paid review but that will still not stop me from complaining how sluggish the site feels. Browsing through the site can be quite a task especially when it takes quite awhile to load a page compared to today's standards. They should probably redesign the site so the browsing experience will be more pleasant.
Apart from that, I find the site to be quite informative even if you do not intend to purchase anything.

This could prove to be very useful.
Researchers at the University of Cincinnati say that a topical gel derived from a patient's own blood may help prevent infection while speeding up the healing process. The finding could mean that, in the not too distant future, a concentrated "cocktail" of a person's own blood could be used to help dress wounds, particularly in patients with diabetes or other disorders that slow the healing process.

So, is the Indonesian isles another Galápagos Islands?
An Indonesian angler caught a fish once thought to have disappeared along with the dinosaurs and held it in a quarantined pool until it died 17 hours later, a biologist said Sunday.
The coelacanth fish was thought to have become extinct 65 million years ago until one was found in 1938 off Africa's coast. The discovery of the so-called "living fossil" ignited worldwide interest.
Several other specimens have since been found, including one in 1998 in waters off the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, where Justinus Lahama also hooked his 1.3-meter (4-foot), 50-kilogram (110-pound) fish early Saturday.

Should we still be popping down those vitamin supplements?
There's more worrisome news about vitamins: Taking too many may increase men's risk of dying from prostate cancer.
The study, being published Wednesday, doesn't settle the issue. But it is the biggest yet to suggest high-dose multivitamins may harm the prostate, and the latest chapter in the confusing quest to tell whether taking various vitamins really helps a variety of conditions - or is a waste of money, or worse.
Government scientists turned to a study tracking the diet and health of almost 300,000 men. About a third reported taking a daily multivitamin, and 5 percent were heavy users, swallowing the pills more than seven times a week.
Within five years of the study's start, 10,241 men had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Some 1,476 had advanced cancer; 179 died.
Heavy multivitamin users were almost twice as likely to get fatal prostate cancer as men who never took the pills, concludes the study in Wednesday's Journal of the National Cancer Institute. [...]

Maybe this well help alleviate the shortage of blood at hospitals.
Scientists have developed an artificial plastic blood which could act as a substitute in emergencies.
Researchers at Sheffield University said their creation could be a huge advantage in war zones.
They say that the artificial blood is light to carry, does not need to be kept cool and can be kept for longer.
The new blood is made up of plastic molecules that have an iron atom at their core, like haemoglobin, that can carry oxygen through the body. [...]

A stunning discovery indeed.
People who have had more than five oral-sex partners in their lifetime are 250% more likely to have throat cancer than those who do not have oral sex, a new study suggests.
The researchers believe this is because oral sex may transmit human papillomavirus (HPV), the virus implicated in the majority of cervical cancers.
The new findings should encourage people to consistently use condoms during oral sex as this could protect against HPV, the team says. Other experts say that the results provide more reason for men to receive the new HPV vaccine. [...]

Should we be glad to hear this since our country is practically at the equator and receives a healthy amount of sunlight?
For decades, researchers have puzzled over why rich northern countries have cancer rates many times higher than those in developing countries — and many have laid the blame on dangerous pollutants spewed out by industry.
But research into vitamin D is suggesting both a plausible answer to this medical puzzle and a heretical notion: that cancers and other disorders in rich countries aren't caused mainly by pollutants but by a vitamin deficiency known to be less acute or even non-existent in poor nations. [...]

A survey is suggesting that only a tiny minority of us are getting eight hours' sleep a night. But do we really need that much?
[...]It's become an increasingly common sentiment that too much work and stress and missing out on our eight hours is the modern plague.
But the good news, says Prof Jim Horne, director of Loughborough University's Sleep Research Centre, is that we don't need eight hours at all.
"It's nonsense. It's like saying everybody should have size eight shoes, or be five foot eight inches.
"There is a normal distribution - the average sleep length is seven, seven and a quarter hours."
Lots of people report having more or less than the average, he said. It may all be down to genes, and what people are accustomed to. [...]
In a nutshell, if you sleep for eight hours a night go to work and find yourself lolling and drooling on the keyboard, you aren't getting enough. If you're sleeping five hours and running the country, you probably are getting enough. [...]

Up till now, I've only known of three states of matter - solid, liquid and gas. Now a fourth state of matter has been discovered?
The first hint that a new type of matter may exist came in 1983. In the experiment, electrons moving in the interface between two semiconductors behaved as though they were made up of particles with only a fraction of the electron's charge. This so-called fractional quantum hall effect (FQHE) suggested that electrons may not be elementary particles after all. However, it soon became clear that electrons under certain conditions can congregate in a way that gives them the illusion of having fractional charge - an explanation that earned Laughlin, Horst Störmer and Daniel Tsui the Nobel prize.

Saw this article in The Sunday Star - Education section.
Last month, USM was named the top research university in the country by the Higher Education Ministry.
This is based on a five-year evaluation against eight criteria: research quality, research quantity, researcher quality and quantity, postgraduate quality and quantity, level of innovation, support such as facilities and human expertise, level of networking and internationalisation, and number of awards and recognition received.
According to Prof Dzulkifli, the university scored high marks in all eight areas used in the appraisal, which took place from 2000 to 2005.
USM received 100% for innovation, awards and recognition and at least 88% in most categories.
A lot of interesting points brought up in the article such as a better remuneration scheme to attract more postgraduate students and how USM will spend the RM153 million grant received by all research universities.
